G’Day all! I’m sharing with you Part 2 of our Small Space Family Launch Pad. If you’d like to see

After we installed the bench and the seat cushion, we got to work on the wall. I made a list of things that I definitely wanted on the wall and then played around with what could go where, until I finally decided on a calendar, a magnetic chalkboard, and some cute little buckets to hold “stuff”.
I had a few extra Ikea frames just hanging out in my garage. I took the biggest one and made it my calendar. I removed the glass and on the outside of the frame, created my calendar with a dry erase marker and a straight edge. Then, I flipped the glass over and traced over the dry erase marker with a permanent marker. Then, I flipped the glass back over and erased the dry erase side. I put the glass back in the frame with the permanent marker calendar on the inside. I placed a large piece of brown paper in the frame for the background and I had a perfect DIY calendar, that cost me next to nothing.
I took another Ikea frame and decided it would be perfect for the magnetic chalkboard. I went to Lowe’s and picked up a piece of sheet metal. I took the glass out of the frame and used it to trace a rectangle to fit in the frame.
Be super careful when you’re cutting out the sheet metal. Ideally, you should where gloves because the sheet metal can cut you very easily. Or you can just call your husband over and have him do it for you. I went with option #2.
After that, I gave it a few coats of Valspar chalkboard paint. Worked great! Then, I put the metal in to the frame and had a chalkboard magnetic board.
I went to Target and picked up some adorable little buckets from the dollar section. They have a little chalkboard on the front of each. I also got some hooks to hang the buckets.
Thanks so much for joining me for this Small Space Family Launch Pad makeover!
